Joseph J. Glasser

DRAPER — Joseph J. Glasser, 49, died in a kayaking accident in Utah on Aug. 1, 2010. His wife, Kelly, also perished in the accident.

Glasser was born in Schenectady, N.Y. on June 16, 1961. He graduated from SUNY-Oneonta in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics. After college, he moved to Utah and worked at Snowbird Ski Resort for many years. He married Kelly Frye on Sept. 29, 2001 on Santa Catalina Island, Calif. He was an avid skier and bicyclist and loved the outdoors.

He is survived by his parents, Thomas and Ruth Glasser of Charlton, N.Y.; brother Christopher (Linda) Glasser of Sandy, Utah; sister Anne (Stephen) Arella of Cary, N.C.; nieces Annabah Pearl and Jean Estelle Glasser of Sandy; stepson Dylan Tice and stepdaughter Annie Elizabeth Tice, both of Sandy.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church.
