SANDY — Residents of the Atria Senior Living facility in Sandy were treated to a "senior prom" recently, when a dozen Juan Diego Catholic High School students joined them to dance and chat. While Soaring Eagle students are required to perform service hours, most of those who went to Atria already had accumulated the minimum required hours, said Marci Landis Morse, the coordinator of the school’s Service and Learning Center. The students visited the senior facility at the request of Liz Mason from Atria Senior Living, Morse said. They dressed in prom clothes; one students danced for about 75 minutes with just one resident, holding onto her hand during the entire event. She smiled and danced with him the whole time, Morse said, adding that many residents commented to her how the students bring such life to the dance.
