Katie Ori

HELPER — Katie Bianco Ori, 92, died Feb. 27. after a short illness. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Parish.

Ori was born March 9, 1915, in Kenilworth, Utah, to Antoinette and Bernardo Bianco. She married Geno Ori Oct. 19, 1936, in Price. He died Aug. 30, 1991. They spent their entire lives in the coal mining communities of Peerless, Sweets, Latuda, and Helper. Ori was always the pillar of the community, and loved Helper. She was a long time supporter of the fire department, Helper Mining Museum, the Electric Light Parade, St. Anthony of Padua Parish activities, local baseball leagues, and many other organizations. She loved helping and caring for anyone in need. Her greatest love was her family. She was a long time member of Stella D’America Italian Lodge No. 77.

She is survived by he sons, Geno Ori, Jr., Scottsdale, Ariz., Jack Ori and Kelly Dunn, Helper,; six grandchildren, Todd, Scott, Rick, Nicole, Jimmy, and Randy Ori; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Antoinette Burton and Edith Tonc; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Committal was in Mt. View Cemetery.
