1943 ~ 2025
Linda K. Itami, 81, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2025, in Mesa, Arizona. Born in Norwalk, Connecticut, Linda was the only child of Leo and Rose Kuenstler. She grew up surrounded by loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Linda began her college education at the University of Connecticut and later earned her Bachelor of Arts in German from the University of Utah, where she cultivated her lifelong love of language and learning.
A longtime resident of Salt Lake City, Linda enjoyed a fulfilling 50-year career as a Realtor, earning the respect and trust of countless clients and colleagues. Beyond her professional achievements, Linda was an active member of her community. She gave generously of her time and heart through her involvement with the Catholic Woman’s League, the Assistance League of Salt Lake City, the Italian-American Civic League and Saint Ambrose Parish, where she served as a lector.
Linda was a passionate Utah Utes football fan and season ticket holder. She and her husband Jeff later took on a volunteer role welcoming fans to the stadium, sharing their team spirit and warm hospitality with fellow supporters. She was a devoted patron of the arts and held season tickets to the Utah Opera. Her love of performance was matched by her joy in gathering with friends beforehand at her favorite restaurants Market Street Grill and The New Yorker, making a night at the opera an occasion to be shared and celebrated.
She enjoyed traveling, especially cruises with family, which brought her some of her happiest memories. She especially loved inviting friends and family to her Iron Blosam timeshare at Snowbird every summer since the 1970s.
Linda was predeceased by her first husband George Humphrey and by her beloved husband of 53 years Jeff Itami. She is survived by her daughters Zoe Humphrey of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; and Suzanne Hug of Mesa, Arizona; as well as her cherished grandchildren Adrienne (Sven) Fors, Lachlan (Erin) Murphy, Donovan Murphy, Calista Cunniff, Alexander Hug and William Hug. Linda was also blessed with two great-grandsons, Oliver Murphy and Leif Fors.
Linda was cremated in accordance with her wishes, and there will be no formal services. Her family will remember her for her warm heart, thoughtful spirit and enduring love. She is now reunited with the loved ones who went before her, and her memory will live on in the many lives she touched.
