Marie Browne Klobucar passed from this life on October 21, 2021, with her daughter Nancy Browning by her side. Marie was born on January 29, 1930, in New York City but following the death of her mother in 1932 she moved to Curaheen, Ireland to live with her Aunt Kate. She attended Curaheen National School from 1935 to 1944 and the Convent Presentation School from 1944 to 1946. In 1946 she moved to Chicago, Illinois to reside with her uncle Micky. In 1950 she met Elmer Klobucar and they were married in Chicago the following year.
Marie and Elmer had five children Janice Byrnes (Rick), William Klobucar, Nancy Browning (Michael), Kathy Klobucar and Marie Land (who passed in 2005); 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. In Chicago, Marie worked for Continental Airlines and after raising their family Marie and Elmer lived in Hawaii, where Marie worked for Mid Pacific Air. They moved to Phoenix in 1990 where Marie worked for America West Airlines. After the death of Elmer in 2013, Marie moved to Salt Lake City, where she enjoyed her life in Park Lane Senior Living Center and Nancy oversaw her care. Marie was proud of her Irish heritage and was a devout Roman Catholic. She received last rites from Monsignor Joseph M. Mayo, a retired priest of the diocese, and was greeted by the angels when she passed. Her free spirit lives and continues to comfort her family and many friends.
A celebration of her friendship will take place at Park Lane Senior Living Center. The date and time will be posted on the Larkin Mortuary website.
In lieu of flowers, please donate a bag of tulips, daffodils, or any other bulb flower to the community of Park Lane Senior Living Center with Attention: Nancy Browning for the purpose of creating a friendship garden.
