BELLEVUE, Wash. — Marion O’Malley Miller, 91, died April 3, surrounded by family. She was a long-time member of the Cathedral of the Madeleine Parish. O’Malley was born Aug. 13, 1916, in Las Animas, Colo., to Walter Lee O’Malley and Elizabeth Kyle O’Malley. She was raised in Salt Lake City and graduated from Saint Mary of the Wasatch in 1934. She studied art at the University of Utah, and was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She married Joe Miller June 27, 1938. He preceded her in death in 2005. They raised their family in the Avenues in Salt Lake City. They spent winters skiing and summers boating with friends. Miller was a member of the Cathedral of the Madeleine Altar Society and the Catholic Woman’s League. They were also members of Saint Vincent Parish, Salt Lake City, and Saint Mary of the Assumption Parish, Park City. In her retirement, O’Malley and her husband spent the summer months traveling the San Juan Islands on their boat, making friends, and memories along the way. They spent winters in Sun City, Arizona. After retiring the boat, they spent several summers in Park City. In 2003, they moved to Bellevue to be closer to children living the area. She is survived by her seven children, Joseph H. Miller, Jr. (Dana Roberts), Friday Harbor, Wash., Marilee Kapsa, San Diego, Calif., Susan O. Wade, San Francisco, Calif., John D. Miller, N.Y., Melanie Miller, Seattle, Wash., Betsy (Doug) Smith, Bellevue, Wash., and Monica Miller (Raymond Link), Malden Bridge, N.Y.; sister, Elizabeth O’Malley Stinson; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
