Martha Jane Pantos
January 19, 1937 ~ November 1, 2023
Martha Jane Pantos, a beloved mother, grandmother and dedicated registered nurse, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2023, in Highland. She was born on January 19, 1937, in Mt. Sterling, Illinois, to loving parents and grew up with a deep appreciation for family and community.
Martha’s life was filled with compassion and selflessness, evident in her chosen profession as a nurse. She dedicated herself to providing care and comfort to those in need, making a lasting impact on the lives of countless patients and their families. Her commitment to healthcare exemplified her kind and nurturing nature, and she will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to serving others.
Though her professional achievements were commendable, Martha’s greatest source of pride and joy came from her role as a wife and mother. On November 24, 1962, she married the love of her life, Joe H. Pantos, and became Mrs. P. and began building a life and family that she cherished wholeheartedly. Martha’s home was always filled with laughter, love and the delicious aromas of home-cooked meals lovingly shared around the family table. She embraced the responsibility of nurturing not only her own children but also the neighborhood kids and extended family members. Martha’s open-door policy created a haven where everyone felt welcome and loved.
Martha had a quick wit and a zest for life. She effortlessly lit up any room she entered, bringing joy and laughter to social gatherings. Her vibrant personality was matched only by her love for reading and expanding her knowledge. She found solace and inspiration in the pages of cherished books, allowing her imagination to soar to new heights.
As we celebrate Martha’s life, we remember her as a remarkable woman who touched the lives of so many. While her presence will be deeply missed, her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Martha Jane Pantos (Mrs. P) is survived by her loving children, Jonette Pantos, Andrea Pantos, Joe Pantos and Nickolos Pantos; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Her memory will forever be cherished, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. A special thanks to IHC Hospice, family and friends who helped us and aided mom on to her next journey.
A funeral Mass was celebrated November 18, 2023 at St. Peter Catholic Church, American Fork.
