October was Breast Cancer Awareness month and at Saint Joseph Catholic High School, students presented the names of their loved ones who have been touched by cancer, and posted them on pink ribbons for display at the school.

Throughout the month, the students, faculty and staff prayed for those loved ones. Also, the Saint Joseph Christian Life class sponsored the Lee National Denim Day for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Students who wished to participate wore DENIM & PINK and donated $5.

The Christian Life Class collected more than $300 to send to the Lee Cancer Foundation. The donations will benefit work to find more effective, less toxic treatments for breast cancer, increase patient access to some of the most significant clinical trials in the nation, to develop a blood test for earlier detection of breast cancer, to provide aid to individuals who are at increased risk for breast cancer and do not have insurance, and to train advocates nationwide.
