Myrna Marie (Siems) Cosgrove, 72, was born in Bismarck, North Dakota to Robert and Elizabeth (Hellman) Siems. She was the fifth child of 12 siblings. Being one of seven daughters, her nickname was fittingly “Happy,” from Snow White. She graduated from Bismarck High School in 1970. In 1974, she made the big move to Utah, where got married and raised two beautiful children. Her family was her life’s pride and joy. She enjoyed a career as a medical transcriptionist for the Utah Neurological Clinic that lasted for over 20 years. She always said how much she loved being a small part of helping people under the high demand of the neurosurgeons.
She was quite the lady and had a huge heart that she extended to everyone. She was the most selfless, caring person you would ever meet and was always finding ways to help others, including opening her home to friends and family who needed somewhere to go. She jokingly referred to this as “taking in strays” and even adopted her cat, Myka. She was dedicated to serving Saint Peter Catholic Parish in the choir and on the women’s council, for which she received the well-deserved title “Woman of the Year” in 2016.
Myrna is survived by her daughter Cassandra; granddaughter Christine; and siblings Judy, Tom, Harold, Kathy, Walter, Pauline, Christine, Marian, Ginny and honorary sister Pam. She is preceded in death by her son James and brother John.
A funeral will be arranged, and she will be laid to rest in her hometown in North Dakota.
