SANDY — The National Science Center located in Augusta, Georgia, visited Blessed Sacrament Catholic Elementary and Middle School Oct 3, with their traveling Mobile Discovery Center. Housed in an 18-wheeler, the mobile center travels across the country, presenting programs designed to show young people that studying science and math is fun as well as essential to their future.

The National Science Center is a joint effort between the U.S. Army and a private foundation, NSC, Inc. The primary mission is to improve technical literacy and stimulate an interest in the physical sciences and math inherent in today’s technology.

The complete program presented during the visit was a combination of High Definition and Artificial Intelligence. It was fun, hands-on, and interactive. The science demonstrations were exciting for both students and teachers. Throughout the day, students in Grades one through eight were able to participate in 45-minute experiment sessions.
