Nellie Grant Kirkmeyer

SALT LAKE CITY — Nellie Grant Kirkmeyer, 95, died June 7.

Kirkmeyer was born July 21, 1911, to Mary Jane Haley and Ed C. Grant in Omaha, Neb. She was educated in schools in Denver and graduated from the University of Colorado. She married Ted Kirkmeyer Sept. 6, 1939. He died Sept. 25, 2003. She was involved in many volunteer services including the Junior League, Assistance League, Catholic Woman’s League, U.S.O., ballet, the symphony, and Friends of CHRISTUS St. Joseph Villa. She volunteered for the American Red Cross for 42 years serving as a field consultant and a national trainer. She had two national appointments, served many years in the blood bank, and had appointments from two Utah governors. She traveled the world with her husband, to whom she was married 64 years. She adored her family and friends.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at the Cathedral of the Madeleine. Committal was in Green Mountain Cemetery in Boulder, Colo.
