Our Lady of Lourdes sign stolen

SALT LAKE CITY — One of the school name plaques in front of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School has been stolen. Sometime in the afternoon of Sept. 27 someone pried the large brass name plaque off of the brick column near the school’s front doors. The sign is 8 feet long and 1.5 feet tall and was probably taken for its value as scrap metal. If anyone has any information about the theft or the location of the sign, contact the school at 801-364-5624 or call the Salt Lake City Police at 801-799-3000.

Like the statue stolen from Saint Ambrose Parish last year, the Our Lady of Lourdes sign was donated to the school. Hopefully the sign will share the same fate as the statue and will be recovered. If the sign is not returned, the school is hoping that donations can cover the cost of replacing it.
