Rotary Scholars! Emily Burchett, Shane Jimenez and Jeff Scott, all seniors at Judge Memorial Catholic High School, were honored at the Rotary Club annual luncheon for their service to community and received rotary scholarships. Burchett was also named a first-place recipient and spoke at the luncheon.

 

Inspiring Worldwide! Freshman Isabel Bartholomew and senior Luke Watson, both from Judge Memorial Catholic High School, were selected to have their work published in Aerie International, an international literary and art journal. Bartholomew will be featuring a poetry piece, "What are the Words Doing Now?", and Watson will be featuring his artwork titled "A Delicate Balance."

 

Gold Star! Karen Anthony Streeter, a teacher at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School, was named the National Catholic Educational Association teacher-honoree for Region 11 award at the recent convention in New Orleans.

 

Victory on the Field! There were some hard-fought sports battles this past weekend. Saint Joseph CHS came up with a second-place victory in the 2A state tournament in soccer. Juan Diego CHS also had the same fate in the 3A tournament.

 

What a Catch! Juan Diego CHS walked away from the diamond this weekend with victory, having claimed the 3A state championship in baseball.
