Priests' Convocation

Father Stephen Fichter was the keynote speaker during the spring priests’ convocation for the Diocese of Salt Lake City, which was held April 28 in St. Vincent de Paul Parish’s Benvegnu Center. Speaking on the topic of “The Mix of International and ‘Local’ Priests,” Fr. Fichter said people need to appreciate that priests who serve in other countries are far away from their family and friends, are speaking a language that doesn’t come naturally, and “that whole sense of empathy and understanding each other is at the heart of” working together, said Fr. Fichter, who is with the Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate, or CARA.
