Utah Catholics gathered to pray the rosary at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Salt Lake City on Jan. 25, the last day of the novena called by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops to “join in prayer and solidarity with the unborn, victims of violence, those suffering from addiction, and those whose hearts ache to be part of a family,” according to Boston Cardinal Sean P. O’Malley, chairman of the USCCB’s Committee on Pro-Life Activities. The Most Rev. John C. Wester, Bishop of Salt Lake City, joined the prayer at the cemetery, which was led by (from right) Veola Burchett, director of the diocesan Office of Family Life; and Donna Masek, a Saint Mary parishioner.
