Draper – Teamwork is the theme for Saint John the Baptist Elementary School for the 2010-11 school year and was summarized nicely by 5 third grade students.

Venice: “If we work together, we will get things done.”

Alexis: “When two work together, many will join.”

Cassie: “Work will always be better if you do it together.”

Sofia: “Friendship and team work are the keys to success.”

Tyler: “If we all work together as one, we will make a difference.”

School started Aug. 16 with 618 students in grades prekindergarten through fifth. To keep their minds sharp over the summer, students in the second through fifth grades set reading goals with their teachers at the end of the school year; 186 students met or exceeded their goals hitting the ground running for this year.

In the same manner, students in kindergarten and first grades were challenged with the “Soaring” through summer with Bridge Activities program; 58 students completed it.

“Each student, parent, teacher, etc. makes up Saint John the Baptist Elementary School’s team, and it takes working together to make the team successful!” said Principal Nikki Ward.
