SALT LAKE CITY — Sarah Jane Shockey Cheminant, 71, died at home June 23. Cheminant was born July 18, 1935, to Henry H. and Lulu Belle Landis Shockey in Berlin, Penn. She was a good student, hard worker, sister, wife, mother, homemaker, gourmet cook, friend, aunt, mentor, Girl Scout leader, Boy Scout leader, counselor, grandmother, artist, eucharistic minister, and devout Christian. She will be terribly missed. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Robert Cheminant; daughter, Connie (Paul) Stanton; grandsons, Austin and Nathan Stanton; son, Mark (Cali) Cheminant; granddaughters, Kayley, Jenna, and Gabriella Cheminant; siblings, Lillian Yoder, Ohio, Marie (Richard) Powell, Colorado; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church. Committal was in Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
