The Intermountain Catholic asked the Diocese of Salt Lake City’s seminarians about their summer ministry. Their responses follow.
Jose Santana, Saint Thomas More Parish
In the summer of 2025 I had the opportunity to do my assignment at Saint Thomas More Parish under the guidance of Father Adrian Komar. I was blessed to be with that community for these reasons: First, Fr. Komar gave me the opportunity to participate in every weekend and daily Mass as an altar server or reader. Second, I spend time in the parish office helping with paperwork, attending meetings and preparing books for the upcoming fall catechism classes. Third, I had the opportunity to be part of the Knights of Columbus. The main task I helped with was preparing for the yard sale they do every year, which takes a week to prepare for the sale to go well.
Overall, I learned many things in this parish, and I am thankful the Diocese of Salt Lake City sent me there this summer.
