Sherilyn Balls Archuleta
May 18, 1957 ~ September 6, 2025
Sherilyn Balls Archuleta, age 68, passed away on September 6, 2025, after a short battle with cancer. She was born on May 18, 1957, to Laren DeMaur Balls and Sherlene Wight in Brigham City, Utah.
She started school in Salt Lake City and finished after a move to Torrance, California. She came back to Ogden for her associate’s degree at Weber State University, where she majored in nursing. She met her husband Richard Archuleta in 1982, and shortly after they were married. They began their life moving from Utah and exploring across New Mexico, Seattle, and then settling in Ogden. Together they had two wonderful boys, John Archuleta of Utah and Nicholas Archuleta (Morgan), USMC.
Sherilyn was a devoted member of St. Joseph Parish in Ogden, where she passionately loved to sing in the choir. She was proud of her two boys and found true joy in life being a grandmother to Isabelle, Jocelyn and Liam. During her time here she was loved deeply by her friends and family. She was a natural caregiver, who was the kindest friend anyone could ask for.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; father, Laren; and her brother, Kenneth Balls.
There will forever be a hole in our hearts. We will miss you, Mom, but you will never be forgotten. With all our love, your boys.
Funeral services were held September 12, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ogden. Interment at Ogden City Cemetery.
