Along with the other changes to its campus, Juan Diego Catholic High School is renaming its football field to honor longtime coach John Colosimo, who launched the school’s football program when the institution opened in 1999.
During his 21 years as the Soaring Eagle football coach, Colosimo led his teams to eight state titles and numerous regional victories. He retired in 2020.
A blessing of the John Colosimo Field will take place after Mass at noon on the grass on Sept. 15. The field will be dedicated the following evening, during a football game against Morgan.
