Forty years ago a few members of the Saint Joseph Catholic Schools’ community came together and formed a new idea to raise funds for the school. They called themselves Supportive People Retaining Educational Excellence (SPREE). This year, on April 28, the Saint Joseph community will come together and celebrate the 40th anniversary of the SPREE fundraiser to support Saint Joseph Catholic Schools. The evening will feature a formal dinner, silent auction and live auction. This year’s theme, Ruby Soiree, is in honor of the ruby anniversary. The event is black tie optional.
As a special tribute during the evening, Paul Willard and Allan McDonald will be honored with the Soaring Jayhawk Award. These men were fundamental in founding the Spree 40 years ago.
Also being recognized will be all those who were a part of the first Spree, as well as those who have contributed to Spree over the years.
