ST. GEORGE — On All Saints Day, Saint George Parish puts a little more "catholic" in their activities for the young people of the parish to help bridge the celebration days from Halloween through All Souls Day, reported Jill Luttrell, Director of Religious Education for the English-speaking members of the parish.

On Nov. 1, the annual All Saints Day celebration was held in Kuzy Hall. The "saints," portrayed by Confirmation class children, were on stage. Thanks to a parish volunteer designer, each was dressed as the saint he or she has chosen for Confirmation.

As the younger children entered Kuzy Hall, they received a crown on which to write what they could learn from the saints or how they believe they can be saints. Some examples: "Saints help me to be better." "[Saints] help me to answer God’s call." "Saints help me to pray every day." "Saints help me share the faith."

Next, the younger children went to the "saints" and listened to their stories, which were told in the first person. The children earned gold coins for hearing the stories; the coin then could be taken to a game booth where prizes could be won.

All the games related to the saints – Pin the Crown on St. George, Fishers of Men fishing booth, All Saints Cake Walk, Saint Face Painting, Saint Bingo and St. Patrick’s Bean Bag Toss.

At the conclusion of the festivities, all the "saints" processed into Mass ahead of the celebrant and sat together to celebrate the Solemnity of All Saints.
