Teresa Stalliviere Withers

July 28, 1948 ~ June 25, 2022

We are saddened by the loss of our mother, wife, grandmother, Gigi, sister, aunt and friend, Teresa S. Withers. She passed away at home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Teresa was born at Cottonwood Hospital in Murray on July 28, 1948, to parents Norman J. and Eva M. Stalliviere. They happily lived in Bingham, Utah during the early years of her life. The family moved to their new home in Midvale, where she resided until she met and married her love of 52 years, Jearl Withers. They were married August 15, 1970 and moved into their first home together.

Teresa studied cosmetology at Hollywood Beauty School, graduating and becoming a hairstylist. She later moved from the salon to her own salon in her home. In 1984, she began working in the office at West Jordan Elementary, where she remained for 15 years. Teresa retired when her grandchildren were born so that she could spend cherished time with her four grandkids. She never turned down the chance to help out her niece Desirae and her four little girls Adalae, Amelia, Evie and Emery. Their smiles made her day.

She enjoyed traveling and absolutely loved shopping and going to lunch with her longtime girlfriends Linda R. Campbell, Mary A. Hogansen, Dianna Freeman and Toni Mascaro. Reminiscing, laughing and, of course, some gossiping made for the best of times. Teresa was a wonderful mom, sister and grandmother. Her laugh was contagious, and her smile radiated across her whole face, putting a sparkle in her eyes. She was a natural caregiver with the biggest of hearts. Once the diagnosis was made, Teresa never wavered in her strength and determination to fight this disease, as she felt she was not done on this earth.

She leaves behind her heartbroken family: husband Jearl Withers; daughters Lisa (Kevin) Maynard, Angela (Kenneth) Alvey; grandchildren Noah, Laura, Caleb and Eva; two great-grandchildren Maiyla and River; siblings Pete (Ellen) Stalliviere, Laetitia (Ray) McWain, Lori (Greg) Romero; and numerous nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and nephews.

We would like to thank Dr. Garrido’s team at The Huntsman Cancer Institute, as well as the Huntsman at Home Hospice Team. We appreciate you all.

A celebration of life was held at Starks Funeral Parlor on June 30, 2022.
