August 21, 1948 ~ March 1, 2025

Terry L. Evans, 76, of Salt Lake City, passed away peacefully March 1, 2025 at The Auberge at Aspen Park after a long illness. He was born August 21, 1948, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Lee and Harriet Evans. His fondest childhood memories were playing with friends on Pierpont Avenue, teasing his little sister Pam relentlessly and picking strawberries in Salina, California.

He was a devout Catholic, dedicated to his faith throughout his entire life. He attended Kearns-Saint Ann School, where one teacher in particular made a profound impact and was so special to him, Sister Kathleen Daley. She left a lifelong impression, and they remained in contact his entire life. He graduated from Judge Memorial Catholic High School in 1966, earning a letter in wrestling and held the proud title of “Big T” as the football manager; he was too tall and skinny to actually play. He married Kathy Kasmer in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church; they were married 50 years. Together they had six children, of whom he was very proud. He loved St. Ann’s community, serving wherever he could; he was a part of the Men’s Club, Bereavement Committee and his favorite of all: being the greeter/usher, a role he did not take lightly. He made so many wonderful memories and countless friendships with his parish.

He graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in accounting in 1970. He dedicated 40 years as a field auditor for the Department of Workforce services. He loved his work family, and the memories they created. After he retired, he became president of the TYRA club and looked forward to the monthly get togethers at Chuck-A-Rama.

Family was everything to Terry. Always being his children’s and grandchildren’s number one fan, he never missed a thing. His love, support and encouragement were endless. One of his many joys in his life was attending all of his children’s and grandchildren’s events.

Terry is survived by his wife Kathy; two beautiful daughters Alison and Lindsay (Colton); four strong sons Jeffery (Terri), Michael (Crystal), Brian (Julia) and Casey (Amy); nine incredible grandchildren: Samantha, Connor, Sydney, Jack, Lincoln, Elle, Kaden, Finn and Emma. Preceded in death by his father, mother, and sister Jeanette.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on March 8, 2025 at St Ann Catholic Church, Salt Lake City. Interment, Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery
