SALT LAKE CITY — Kearns-Saint Ann student body presented "The Bells of Glocken" this year for their Christmas program and featured Father Michael Sciumbato, pastor of Saint Ann Parish, as a special guest.

The entire Kearns-Saint Ann student body was involved in telling the story about how a wise old king had given his kingdom some bells to be rung in times of trouble after he had died. The four bells represented peace, joy, hope and love. The people rang the bells often and eventually the cords broke. But the king had also told the people that in time another king would come to bring them salvation.

Under the direction of Vickie Maronick, Kearns-Saint Ann music director, the program opened with the eighth graders playing the wise men, dancing down the aisle in long-flowing robes to begin the story of the Nativity.

The second- through seventh-graders formed the choir and sang joyfully during the program. The sixth-graders played recorders. The kindergarten and first-graders got into the spirit by singing the Guardian Angel prayer before joining Fr. Sciumbato in three songs: "Come to the Stable," "Away in a Manger" and "Este es La Navidad."
