SALT LAKE CITY — Over 250 grandparents and special friends were the guests of The Madeleine Choir School and its students on Oct. 12. The Choir School’s annual Grandparents Day began with refreshments on the quad, followed by musical performances and skits by all the students. "Our children enjoy performing for their grandparents and special friends," said Jill Baillie, principal. "Our HSA puts together this highly-anticipated event every year and it’s always a big hit." The event opened with a blessing by the fourth grade, followed by each class singing a song, violin-playing by the third grade, a skit by the Collegium students, and singing by the St. Nicholas, St. Cecilia and St. Gregory choristers. Grandparents Day has been celebrated every fall since the school moved from the Cathedral basement to the Avenues campus. What was once a small crowd of a few dozen grandparents has grown to its current size of over 250, as The Madeleine Choir School continues to expand each year.
