SALT LAKE CITY — Next week healing Masses will take place at three parishes in the Diocese of Salt Lake City. The Masses are part of the Shalom Media Jesus Heals ministry and are being brought to the diocese with the help of Paulson Puthur, a St. John the Baptist parishioner and Shalom Media’s international coordinator for prison ministry.
Jesus Heals is a Shalom World Conference live event “that offers a unique opportunity to gather and seek healing of mind, body and soul,” the organization’s website says.
Along with Mass, the two-hour events will include Eucharistic Adoration, a spiritual talk special prayers for healing and blessing of the sick. Father Jilto George, CMI, Shalom World Fellowship spiritual director, will preside at the Mass; he also will give the talk titled “By His Stripes We Are Healed.” During Eucharistic Adoration, Fr. George will make the altar call, during which those attending are invited to go forward for healing prayer and blessing.
“We all go through various struggles, burdens and brokenness,” said Puthur, who brought the Jesus Heals ministry to St. John the Baptist Parish in 2021. “Let’s bring them to our Eucharistic Lord and experience the healing and renewal of our body, mind and soul. Shalom Ministry has witnessed great miracles and transformations in the presence of the Eucharistic Lord during Jesus Heals events conducted globally.”
Puthur is very active at the St. John the Baptist Parish, said Alyssa White, the pastoral assistant. “He is a member of our ushering team, ACTS ministry and a member of the parish council. He approached Father Tilley a few years ago for us to host this event and it was a success. So when he approached Father again, we said yes.”
Father Stephen Tilley is pastor of St. John the Baptist Parish.
Those who attend the Jesus Heals Holy Mass are also invited to the “Come and See” workshop on Saturday, Oct. 12 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church to learn more about Shalom World Media Ministry’s media mission and resources for individuals and their families to grow in Christ-centered life, Puthur said. The day will include Mass, talks and fellowship.

Monday, Oct. 7 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 9757 South 1700 East, Sandy
