Students from all three Utah Catholic high Schools advanced from the 2017 UHSAA Regional Theater competition to the state competition in  April. Following are the State Theater competition award winners from Utah Catholic high schools.

One Act:

2nd place overall: Ethan Hernandez, Joey Tramposh, Jackie Hammer, Hannah Olsen, Matraca Bartel, Grace Layman and Keven Schroeder, “Oedi,” St. Joseph CHS

Best actor: Mitchell Stevens, “The Crucible,” Juan Diego CHS

Best actress: Brynn Duncan, “The Crucible,” Juan Diego CHS

Best supporting actor: Thomas Moore, “The Crucible,” Juan Diego CHS

Classical Scene:

1st place overall: Matraca Bartel and Hannah Olsen performing “Romeo and Juliet,” St. Joseph CHS

Dramatic Monologue:

2nd place overall (1A division): Ethan Hernandez, “King Lear,” St. Joseph CHS
