October 9, 1968 ~ September 27, 2021
Our dear daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and dear friend Valerie Anne Espinoza Myers passed away on September 27, 2021, at the University of Utah Hospital, Salt Lake City.
Valerie was born October 9, 1968, in Loveland, Colorado to George R. and Genevieve Espinoza. She was the mother to three sons, Phillip, Seth and Gabriel; and grandmother to Sophia Simone.
She is survived by her parents, George and Genevieve, Bountiful, brother Tony (Kris) Espinoza, DeFuniak Springs, Florida and sister Eleanor (James) Armijo, Long Beach, California, many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins.
Everyone who knew Valerie loved her. She was an inspiration to everyone she met. She made everyone feel special. She possessed many qualities such as kindness, patience and understanding with an incredible smile and sense of humor. She knew the meaning of hard work and she worked very hard to take care of her family. She raised her sons to become loving, caring gentlemen. She had many lifelong friends who knew her as a gentle, classy lady.
Valerie was a parish member at St. Olaf Catholic Church since 1986. She was very active in planning and organizing church activities. She was involved in the youth group ministry and was a CCD teacher. She was a member of the Ladies of Charity and served as past president. She was a wonderful cook and would bake food items for the annual Thanksgiving bake sale. Valerie was creative and some of her hobbies included jewelry making, card making and rock painting. The family is sure that she took her glue gun with her because we cannot find it. We can imagine her gluing fallen angel feathers back on their wings.
Valerie was employed at Benchmark Regional Hospital as a medical records assistant with her mother Genevieve. After working at Benchmark, she also worked as a dispatcher for 20 years for Bullocks and Kearns Heavy Duty towing and recovery.
Valerie was approached by a modeling executive to model sports and recreational clothing such as ski wear. When she walked across the modeling platform, she exhibited poise and elegance in her presentation. She became the spokeswoman for the size acceptance events in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Funeral services will be October 23 at 11 a.m. at St. Olaf Catholic Church, 276 East 1700 South, Bountiful. Services will be live streamed.
