Vera Louise Blockovich

Vera Blockovich was born to Elmo and Edna Frisby Pierce on July 18, 1930 in Pleasant Grove, Utah and passed away suddenly on Jan. 22, 2017.
She was raised in Butterfield Canyon and attended Bingham High School. She married John Blockovich on Oct. 11, 1947. They were married 61 years.
Vera loved to travel and everything related to flying. For a recent birthday she celebrated by parachuting from an airplane. She was able to take one last bucket list trip with her daughters on a recent cruise to Alaska. Vera was a kind, caring and selfless woman, who always put others first.
Vera was a devout Catholic and a proud member of St. Francis Xavier Church. She served faithfully in the Legion of Mary for over 50 years.
Vera is survived by three sons: Tom, Michael and Luke; and two daughters: JoLene (Craig) Ellertson and Eva (Michael) Rees. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Vera is also survived by her sister Marjean (Walter) Bleazard. She leaves countless friends, many of whom also called her Mom or Grandma. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents; her sister Juanita and grandson Brian.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place Jan. 28 at St. Francis Xavier Church.
