Father Tony Schueller, 71, was born January 31, 1950 in Belgium, Wisconsin to John and Mary (née Heilmann), both deceased. He is the brother of Donald, Gerald, John and Kathleen (all deceased), and brother of Patricia. He was close to his sister-in-law Clara Koepp. He entered religious life and the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament High School Seminary in Waupaca, Wisconsin in 1964. He professed his vows on May 8, 1970 and was ordained a priest on October 22, 1977.
He was a gifted writer and speaker, and an extremely humble and kind man who touched many by his Eucharistic vision and living. His passion was collaboration with the laity, especially through the formation of the Associates of the Blessed Sacrament.
Through his gifts he held many positions in the order and in the Church. He was parochial vicar in Albuquerque, New Mexico (1977-79); vocation and novice director (1979-84); Catholic Center chaplain of the Diocese of Salt Lake City (1985-92); Emmanuel editor (1990-2002 and 2013-2019); parochial vicar of Saint Paschal Baylon, Highland Heights, Ohio (1991-95); provincial superior (1995-2002 and 2014-2021); pastor, Saint Jean Baptiste Catholic Church, New York, New York (2003-2013); director of the Center for Eucharistic Evangelizing (2013-2015); and pastor, Saint Joseph Catholic Church (downtown) San Antonio, Texas (2019-21).
