William (Bill) Henry Phillips OREM — Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, William (Bill) Henry Phillips, passed away March 24, 2011, at home surrounded by his family. Bill was born on September 9, 1927 in Spring Canyon, Utah, son of James H. Phillips and Isabella McCrae Phillips. He graduated from South High School, Salt Lake City, in 1945 and served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1947 in the Philippines and Korea. In 1952, he earned a degree in civil engineering from the University of Utah, where he was a member of Theta Tau. In 1953, Bill married the love of his life, Gloria Busico, and they moved to Orem in 1959. He worked for U.S. Steel Corp. at the Geneva plant for 26 years. He was a member of the Elks, Knights of Columbus, and the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Bill served his community by giving his energy and professional talents to St. Francis Church, Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scouts of Utah, and the Orem City Planning Commission. Funeral mass will be held Francis Church, 63 East 500 North, Orem, Utah.
