November 1, 1961 ~ August 5, 2022

Yolanda Chacon of Salt Lake City was granted her angel wings on August 5, 2022 after her second valiant battle with cancer.

Yolanda was born on November 1, 1961, in Romeo, Colorado to Orlando and Tina Chacon. She graduated from Centauri High School in Lajara, Colorado and shortly after moved to Salt Lake City. Due to her illness Yolanda would have to retire from her job after 30 years at U.P.S. in 2021. She fought every day to live to the fullest and stay positive. Yolanda was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Salt Lake City.

Yolanda loved her family and all the countless friends she met throughout the years. She loved shopping at thrift stores, reading books and listening to music. Yolanda was a very giving, kind and loving person. She always made sure no child would go without gifts for Christmas or birthdays, whether family or someone she knew was less fortunate.

Preceded in death by her beloved parents Orlando and Tina Chacon. Yolanda is survived by Luis Cisneros Jr. and her 10 siblings: Diana (Mike) Vigil, Manuel (Norma) Chacon, Ray Chacon, Juanita Lavern (Deacon Moises) Ruiz, Angelo (Manuelita) Chacon, Orlando (Jackie) Chacon, Rick (Carol) Chacon, Tina Chacon, Dennis Chacon and Sidney Chacon.

Her wishes were for her services to be held in Manassa, Colorado and her final resting place in Los Cerritos Cemetery next to our parents.

The family would like to thank Dr. Wallace A. Akerley and his staff at the Huntsman Cancer Institute, as well as the CNS Home Health and Hospice. A special thank you to April Chacon, who gave her all to make sure she was as comfortable as possible in her journey. The family would also like to thank her many countless friends who sent her uplifting cards throughout her journey. She always said she could not have done it without her village.

Fly high, hermana, you are free from all your pain and suffering, and as you always said, Happy Today!
