Empty Bowls

The annual Empty Bowls event, which benefits Catholic Community Services’ homeless services, is scheduled for May 7, the day before Mother’s Day.
“The idea is that you purchase a bowl, and then that will feed a person,” said Danielle Stamos, CCS public relations officer. “If you’re looking for a gift for your mom, and you have not yet found anything, or she’s a woman who has everything and maybe wants to help someone in need, buying a bowl is a great idea.”

Sixth-grade champs

The Our Lady of Lourdes 6th-grade basketball team won the 6th-grade Senior Division at the Holy Spirit Basketball Invitational Tournament in Pocatello, Idaho March 19-20 under Kurt Terrill, head coach. There were 18 teams; the girls played three games before the tournament bracket started. Once the tournament started, the team won two games and moved into the championship game on Sunday morning. >>>

March 24 saw the 100th food drop-off for low-income elementary school children in the Ogden/Weber school districts area by the Catholic Community Services’ Northern Utah Bridging the Gap program. The mobile pantry delivers food to 2,100 children each month.   >>>
