4-Minute Reflection: The Introductory Rites, Part I

The preparation that we began before Mass continues as we gather as the Church. The Introductory Rites help us to discover a unity that is already ours, but still waiting to be realized by our participation. The Entrance Procession, Veneration of the Altar, the Greeting, the Penitential Rite, the Kyrie, the Gloria, and the Collect - all serve to prepare us for celebration. They help to establish a sense of unity, so that we might hear the Word of God and celebrate the Liturgy of the Eucharist joyfully. >>>

La preparación que empezamos antes de la Misa continúa luego  cuando nos reunimos como una congregación de feligreses. Los Ritos Iniciales nos ayudan a descubrir una unidad  ya nuestra, pero en espera de llevarse a cabo con nuestra participación. La Procesión de Entrada, Veneración del Altar, el Saludo, el Acto Penitencial, el Señor Ten Piedad (Kyrie),  el Gloria,  y  la Colecta - nos sirven para prepararnos para la celebración. Nos  ayudan a establecer un sentido de unidad,  para que podamos escuchar la Palabra de Dios y celebrar la Liturgia de la Eucaristía con alegría. >>>
