Supreme Court ruling both good and problematic

As with so many political issues, the Catholic response to the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent ruling on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is far more complicated than the response of politicians and their respective parties. With all of our teachings, it is not easy for Catholics to respond with a quick "good decision" or "bad decision." Holy Cross sister keeps serving even in retirement

MURRAY — For 61 years, Holy Cross Sister Martha Ann Norwood has responded to the needs of the Catholic community. She spent the first 37 years as a vowed religious teaching middle school. Then, after a sabbatical, she moved into the nursing field, where she worked for 18 years. Her last position was in pastoral care at Saint Joseph Villa, from which she retired in 2004, at least officially. >>>

St. Therese food pantry closes; services transferred to nearby rec center

MIDVALE — The food pantry begun 30 years ago at Saint Therese of the Child Jesus Parish has closed. However, patrons are able to receive expanded services from the Utah Food Bank through the South County C.A.P. Food Pantry located in the Copperview Recreation Center, 8446 S. Harrison St. (300 West) in Midvale, only blocks from the church. >>>

MIDVALE — El Banco de alimentos que comenzó hace 30 años en la parroquia Católica de Santa Teresita del Niño Jesús cierra sus puertas. Sin embargo, las personas que necesitan este servicio pueden ahora recibirlos del Banco de Comida de Utah a través del South County C.A.P. ubicado a solo unas cuadras de la parroquia, en el centro recreativo de Copperview, 8446 South Harrison Street (300 West).
