At this time of the year when presents dominate our thoughts, it seems strange that so many of us are losing our ability to be present to one another. We are absorbed by computer screens, video games, iPods, iPads, iPhones and so many other things that have an "i" or "e" in front of them. And yet the main point of Christmas is the "present" that God makes of himself in his Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.

RIVERTON — The Christmas Box International has three homes in Utah. Their mission is "to partner with local and international communities and groups to prevent child abuse and improve the quality of life for children who have been abused or neglected." In November, students from the 3rd and 6th grades at Saint Andrew Catholic School had the opportunity to be one of those partners.

SALT LAKE CITY — Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic School’s student body received a standing ovation Dec. 15 for their Christmas performance of "Annunciation 2011," and the original finale Christmas carol "Jesus Is." Parent Michael O’Brien wrote the carol’s lyrics and Scott Larrabee, St. Vincent’s music director, composed the music.
