When that plan fell through, she decided to attend anyway with her daughters, Kayelyn and Meagan, who both teach religious education classes at the parish.

The dinner will be celebrated Sept. 23 at the Grand America Hotel. The guest speaker will be the Most Rev. Blase Cupich, Bishop of Spokane, Wash. Also honored at the event will be Irene Sweeney, who died June 23, 2011.
