Advent retreats scheduled

Advent begins Sunday, Nov. 29. Consider attending a retreat to prepare for the new liturgical year. Two Advent retreats are scheduled in the Diocese of Salt Lake City.

The diocesan Advent retreat will be a reflection on the upcoming Year of Mercy, “Taken, Blessed, Broken and Given," presented by Fr. Ken Vialpando, pastor of St. Joseph Parish. The retreat will be Saturday, Dec. 5, 9 a.m. - noon at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 300 East 11800 South, Draper. Early-bird registration: $5 by Dec. 1; $8 at the door. St. Mary Parish is offering an Advent retreat with presenters Fr. Gustavo Vidal, Tino and Mary Valles, Carol Ruddell, Tom and Maria Devereux and Marylin Acosta. The retreat will be Saturday, Nov. 21, 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4050 South 3900 West, West Haven. The $10 fee includes a light breakfast and lunch.
