For the third year in a row, women from Saint Pius X Catholic Church in Moab joined women from the Saint Francis Episcopal Church for a retreat. This year the theme was "Opening and Balancing Our Spiritual Lives." The team leaders from St. Pius X Parish were Pat Carter, Nanci Flescher, Kathy Reske, and Charlotte Mates. Jeanne Lachowski from Saint Catherine of Siena/Newman Center in Salt Lake City joined Karen Ohlrich, Cynthia Worthington and Gail Lea from St. Francis Episcopal Church to round off the team. St. Pius X Pastor Bill Wheaton promoted the retreat at Saint Joseph Parish in Monticello as well as at St. Pius X. The retreat itself, held Sept. 15 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, was based on the song "Spirit of the Living God." Participants explored Bible verses, listened to inspirational talks, shared in table discussions and worship, and established prayer partners to encourage a developing spiritual journey.
