March 10, 1931 – Jan. 22, 2017
Our loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle, Armond Gene Francone, passed away at the age of 85 on Jan. 22, 2017.   He was born in Estes Park, Colo., on March 10, 1931, to Armond and Hildegarde Franciscotti Francone. Because of his love of marbles as a child, he was affectionately known as “Miggs” to everyone who knew him.
After graduating with a degree in communications from Washington State University, he married his childhood sweetheart, Beverly Jean Hollingsworth, on Aug. 30, 1953 in Coulee Dam, Wash., where they met as teenagers. She preceded him in death in 2006.
After serving in the Air Force during the Korean War, Miggs carried on the family business with his father and brother, Jerry Francone, and installed beautiful terrazzo Italian marble floors that can be seen all over the western United States, including Utah.
He leaves behind his four children: Skip Francone (Shelly), Penny Bridge (Kenny), Kelly Francone (Dan Gimble) and Stacey Francone (Lorraine Ruiz); and his brother, Gerald Francone (Jeanne Zaelit). He had seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several step-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
He was a member of St. Ambrose Church for many years.
Miggs left laughter in his path wherever he went. He had a quick sense of humor, and anyone who knew him has a funny “Miggs” story to tell. He loved his family, the New York Yankees, vanilla ice cream and Hershey bars.
We will greatly miss him, his humor and his kindness.
A funeral Mass was celebrated on Jan. 28 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. He was entombed at Wasatch Lawn with his wife, Beverly.
Special thanks to the hospice ladies, Ellen and Heidi, who enriched the last year of his life.
In lieu of flowers, his children ask that donations be made to the Utah Food Bank in his name.
