DCCW Convention Registration Deadline — Monday, March 26. The 2018 convention, with keynote speaker Sheri Wohlfert, will be April 28-29 at the Sheraton Salt Lake City Hotel. To register, contact your parish women’s organization or visit www.dccwutah.org.  

Mass of the Lord’s Supper — Thursday, March 29, 7:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC. Followed by Veneration of the Eucharist until midnight, with Compline at 9:15 p.m. Check your parish for times.

Passion of the Lord — Friday, March 30, noon in English and 7 p.m. in Spanish at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC. Check your parish for times.

Stations of the Cross — Friday, March 30, 2 p.m. in Spanish and 5:30 p.m. in English at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC. Check your parish for times.

Good Friday Meditation — Friday, March 30, 3 p.m. in the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC. The Choir of the Cathedral of the Madeleine will present Stabat mater. Free and open to the public.

Ecumenical Way of the Cross — Good Friday, March 30, 11 a.m. at Sandtown Park, W. 700 North in St. George. The mile-long journey concludes in the parking lot of the Saint George Catholic Church.  Pastors and faith leaders will narrate each station; between stations “Were You There” will be sung by those assembled for the walk. Members of all faiths are welcome.  

Ecumenical Stations of the Cross — Good Friday, March 30, 7 p.m. Begins in front of the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC. Members of the procession will walk to various downtown houses of worship and end at the Cathedral Church of St. Mark, 231 East 100 South. Members of all faiths are welcome.              

Divine Mercy Chaplet Novena — for all the sick and suffering in the community. Beginning Friday, March 30, and continuing through Saturday, April 7, 3 p.m. each day at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 1505 White Pine Canyon Road, Park City. The devotion takes about 20 minutes and is prayed with the rosary. English and Spanish devotional guides available.

The Passion According to St. Matthew — Friday, March 30, 7:30 p.m. at Libby Gardner Concert Hall, 1375 Presidents Circle, SLC. Presented by the Salt Lake Choral Artists. Tickets: $10-$15, available at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-passion-according-to-st-matthew-by-j-s-bach-tickets-37861606083.

Holy Saturday/Easter Vigil — Saturday, March 31. Bishop Oscar A. Solis has determined that the Easter Vigil may not begin earlier than one hour after sunset in the Diocese of Salt Lake City. The Mass at the Cathedral of the Madeleine will begin at 9 p.m. Check your parish for Mass times.

Easter Sunday — April 1. Mass at 8 a.m., 10 a.m. and noon in English and 3 p.m. in Spanish, with Vespers and Benediction at 5 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC. Check your parish for Mass times.

Children’s Benefit — for Blessed Sacrament School. RSVP by April 1 for the event, which will be Saturday, April 21, 5-11 p.m. at the Living Planet Aquarium, 12033 Lone Peak Parkway, Draper. Benefit Dinner — to help rebuild the homes of 1,000 Iraqi Christians who were driven from their homes in Karamles by ISIS.  Saturday, April 7 at St. Ambrose Parish, 2315 Redondo Ave. Refugees from Iraq will share their experience of being driven from their homes. Divine Mercy Sunday — April 8 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 3015 Creek Road, Sandy. The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be available beginning at 1:30 p.m. The Divine Mercy Chaplet begins at 3 p.m. followed by Mass with Bishop Oscar A. Solis as the main celebrant. All are welcome.

Hour of Mercy — April 8, 3-4 p.m. at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 4914 South 2200 West, Taylorsville. With Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, singing of the Divine Mercy chaplet with piano accompaniment, the litany to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, silent prayer and benediction All are welcome.

Holy Hour for Mercy — Sunday, April 8, 1-2 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4050 South 3900 West, West Haven. The chanting of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy  will be included. All are welcome.

Madeleine Festival Concert — Sunday, April 8, 8 p.m. in the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC. Featuring guest artists the American Festival Chorus and Orchestra, the Lux Singers and the Cache Children’s Choir performing Vaughan William’s oratorio,
Sancta Civitas (The Holy City), and cantata Dona Nobis Pacem (Plea for Peace). Free and open to the public.

An Evening of Prayer for Immigration — Monday, April 9, 7 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC. Begins with an hour of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament with Taizé prayers led by high school and university students. At 8 p.m. Catholic Community Services of Utah will host an informational session on DACA and immigration. All are welcome.

Mass at Alta — Sunday Mass is offered at Our Lady of the Snows Chapel through the ski season. Mass is at 5 p.m. in the chapel, located directly across the street from the Alta Lodge, next to the Shallow Shaft restaurant. Mass on Easter Day will be at 10 a.m.

Bircumshaw, vicar general, reminds all pastors, deacons, principals, religious and laity charged with creating calendars for their parish, school or Catholic organization that in keeping with a longstanding policy, no local events should be scheduled to conflict with the annual Pastoral Congress, which is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018.
