Prayer for Vocations — A special period of prayer made before the Blessed Sacrament in solemn exposition with a special emphasis for vocations is underway in the diocese of Salt Lake City. Each parish in the diocese has been scheduled for a week of this devotion. St. Joseph Parish, 506 24th St., Ogden, will  host his devotion the week of May 3-9. The parish has a perpetual adoration chapel. They will make announcements in the parish bulletin and from the ambo during the May 2 weekend Masses to ask adorers during their specific adoration hours to pray for vocations during this special week.

Youth Track and Field Event — All young area athletes are encouraged to participate in the annual Christ the King Youth Track & Field Fun with mini-clinics and competitions to be held at Judge Memorial Catholic High School’s McCarthey Stadium, 650 South 1100 East, SLC. Friday, May 8, 4-6:45 p.m. Open to all youths grades 2-8, with $5 entry donation. For information, visit www.judgememorial.com. 

St Francis of Assisi Game Night — Friday May 8, dinner at 6:30 p.m. with games to follow at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 65 East 500 North, Orem. Cost is $14.

Music Concert — The Utah Youth Philharmonic and Youth Symphony will perform Sibelius’ Finlandia and Symphony No. 2 Saturday, May 9 with conductor Barbara Scowcroft, 7 p.m. at Abravanel Hall. Six students in the orchestras will represent Judge Memorial CHS and one will represent Juan Diego CHS. The concert is free of charge. 

Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive — Saturday, May 9, help in the fight against hunger by participating in the annual Stamp Out Hunger Letter Carrier Food Drive. Place bag of canned food items next to your mailbox and the mail carrier will deliver it to a local food pantry. This food drive will support the Catholic Community Services Joyce Hansen Hall Food Bank. Donations are collected at your local parish or at any CCS location. May Crowning — Multi-language rosary and parish May Crowning, Sunday, May 10 after the 11:30 a.m. Mass at Saint Mary Catholic Church, 4050 South 3900 West, West Haven.

Level II Training — for those who minister Eucharist to the sick and shut-in will be held on Tuesday, May 12, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Chancery Building, 303 E South Temple, SLC.  Level I Training is required before attending this workshop.  Seating is limited; pre-registration is required. Festival of Roses — May 15-17 at the Skaggs Catholic Center, 300 East 11800 South, Draper.  The festival is open to the entire community and offers live entertainment, carnival rides, games, silent auction, 5K race and Family Fun Walk, classic car show and more. Retreat for a Woman’s Soul — Saturday, May 16, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church; 100 East 5550 South, Ogden. Worship leader will be Father Carl Schlichte, O.P. Cost is $15, which provides a light breakfast, lunch, refreshments and materials. This retreat provides a time to listen and share experiences, a time to laugh and spend time with friends, and a time to find how God is close to us throughout the many different seasons of our lives. Three-night Mission — May 17-19, 7-8 p.m. each evening at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 1505 White Pine Canyon Road, Park City. Father James Sichko, a renowned motivational speaker and pastor of St. Mark’s Parish in Richmond, Ky., will lead the mission. He is the author of Among Friends. No reservation is needed to attend.

St. Mary Stampede Rodeo/Carnival — Thursday, May 28, 4 p.m. at Hooper Park, 5600 South 6300 West, Hooper. Ben German, Broken Heart Rodeo Co., will provide his championship stock. Carnival, food, music and vendors will be present May 28-30. 

St. Mary Women’s Retreat — June 12-14, at Saint Mary Catholic Church, 4050 South 3900 West, West Haven. Engage in a weekend filled with spiritual healing and growth, fulfilling moments, thought provoking discussions, prayer, and laughter. Cost is $50 and will include reading material.
