Prayer for Vocations - A special 40-hour period of prayer made before the Blessed Sacrament in solemn exposition with a special emphasis for vocations is underway in the Diocese of Salt Lake City. Each parish in the diocese is scheduled to have one week of this special devotion during the year. Saint Marguerite Parish, 510 E. Vine St., Tooele will hold the devotion Feb. 9 and Feb. 11-13, beginning each day with Mass at 9 a.m., followed by Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. 

Healing Mass — for anyone facing surgery, living with the difficulties of illness or frailty of old age.  Wednesday, Feb. 11, 3 p.m., at Saint Thomas More Catholic Church, 3015 E. Creek Road, Sandy.

St. Francis of Assisi Bingo — Friday Feb. 13, 6:30 p.m. dinner; bingo at 7 p.m., at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 65 East 500 North, Orem. Cost: $14.

Annual Mexican Dinner/Bingo — at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 210 S. Chapel St., Layton. Friday, Feb. 13 at 6:30 p.m. No one under 21 allowed. Cost: $15 per person includes dinner, two bingo cards, Balloon Pop, raffle items and 50-50 prize drawing.

Valentine Bash — Saturday, Feb. 14, 5:30 p.m., at Kearns-Saint Ann Catholic School, 430 East 2100 South, SLC. A night of fun, auctions, dinner and dancing.  Tickets: $25 per person; $40 per couple. For information, contact Lydia Green, 801-486-0741 ext. 11.

Queen of Hearts Masquerade Ball — Saturday, Feb. 14, in the Saint John the Baptist Elementary School multi-purpose room. Champagne reception at 6 p.m.; sit-down dinner served at 7 p.m. Dinner, dancing, door prizes, and auctions. Tickets must be purchased in advance; $50 each. Improv Comedy — Saturday, Feb. 14, 7 p.m. The improv comedy troupe Quick Wits will perform a fundraiser for the Saint Therese of the Child Jesus Parish building fund. Tickets, available at the door, are $5 each or $20 per family. The fundraiser will be at the parish, 624 W. Lennox St., Midvale. 

Blue Mass — Feb. 15, 8:30 a.m., at Saint John the Baptist Parish, 300 East 11800 South, Draper. A breakfast with a freewill offering will be held afterward, with profits going to the Utah Law Enforcement Memorial.

Fat Tuesday Celebration — Tuesday, Feb. 17, 6 p.m., in the Saint Joseph Parish social center,  506 24th St., Ogden. Dinner and drinks sponsored by the Knights of Columbus.

Aquinas Institute Speaker — Thursday, Feb. 19, at 7 p.m. in the Evans Black Box Theatre, Saint Joseph Catholic High School, 1790 Lake St., Ogden. Kase D. Johnstun will present and perform a reading of Beyond the Grip of Craniosynostosis: An Inside View of Life Touched by the Congenital Skull Deformity.

Wiegenlieder: Lullabies — Feb. 20-21 7:30 p.m. at Saint Ambrose Church, 1975 South 2300 East, SLC. Bedtime stories and songs performed by the Salt Lake Choral Artists. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for students ages 12 and up (with ID), and $5 for children ages 4-11. Tickets are available at the door and at www.saltlakechoralartists.org.

Faith Fiction — Monday, Feb. 23, 7 p.m. Dominican Fr. Peter Hannah will discuss C.S. Lewis’ “The Great Divorce” in the Saint Catherine of Siena Newman Center library lounge. RSVP to Fr. Peter at pjohannahop@gmail.com.

Dynamic Catholics — will discuss “Four Signs of a Dynamic Catholic” by Matthew Kelly on Friday, Feb. 27, 6 p.m. in the Saint Joseph Parish social center,  506 24th St., Ogden. Some books will be available, free of charge. Family and friends invited. The discussion will begin promptly after the Stations of the Cross and soup dinner.

Patrick Madrid — host of “Right Here, Right Now” and best-selling author, will present a Day of Evangelization Saturday, April 18, 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 9757 South 1700 East, Sandy. His topic will be “Why Do Catholics Leave the Church?  Why Do They Return? What Can Lay Catholics Do About It?” Tickets: $30 for VIP reserved seating and catered lunch; $20 for reserved seating, no lunch; general admission, no lunch, no charge; goodwill donation encouraged. Diocesan Ultreya  — will be held every third Sunday of the month at 3 p.m. at the Carleton Hall/education center at Saint Therese of the Child Jesus Parish, 7832 Allen Street, Midvale.

Mass at Alta — Sunday celebration of the Eucharist is each week, 5 p.m. during the ski season at Our Lady of the Snows Chapel, across the road from the Alta Lodge in Little Cottonwood Canyon.

Bingo — Every Friday night doors open at 5:45 p.m. for dinner and bingo starts at 6:45 p.m. at Saint Francis Xavier, 4501 West 5215 South, Kearns. Cost is $15 includes dinner with 18 games of bingo.
