Judge Memorial CHS Music Concert — Monday, Dec. 15, 7 p.m. in the school auditorium, 650 South 1100 East, SLC. Performing are the concert choir, jazz band, concert band, and orchestra. The concert is free, but donations are encouraged and appreciated.

Benefit Concert — Tuesday, Dec. 16, 7:30 p.m. Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 514 24th St., Ogden. Beyond 5 will perform a benefit concert with all proceeds going to the building fund for the parish’s religious education center. Christmas Carol Service — Dec. 17-18, 8 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC. Music of Jacob Handl, Anton Bruckner and Francis Poulenc. Free and open to the public; seating passes have been distributed, but a stand-by line will form at 7 p.m.

St. Thomas More Bingo — Friday, Dec. 19, 6 p.m., at Saint Thomas More Parish’s Meyer Hall, 3015 Creek Road, Cottonwood Heights. Play begins at 6:45 p.m. Cost is $14 per person, which includes dinner and Bingo.  Must be 18 years or older to attend.

O Magnum Mysterium — Dec. 19-20, 7:30 p.m. at Saint Ambrose Catholic Church, 1975 South 2300 East, SLC. Features the Salt Lake Choral Artists. Cost: $20; $10 with student ID. Service of Lessons and Carols — Sunday, Dec. 21, 6:30 p.m. at Saint Ambrose Catholic Church, 1975 South 2300 East, SLC. Featuring the Choir of St. Ambrose and the Roper Memorial Pipe Organ. Christmas Day — Thursday, Dec. 25, vespers and benediction with the Cathedral Choir will be sung at 5 p.m. in the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC.

New Year’s Eve Party — Friday, Dec. 31, 8 p.m. - 1 a.m. at Saint Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 7405 S. Redwood Road, West Jordan. Appetizers, champagne toast and dancing. Cost is $25 per person in advance or $30 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at the parish office from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.

First Friday Mass — with the Catholic Woman’s League. Friday, Jan. 2, 9 a.m. at Saint Ann Catholic Church, 2119 South 400 East, SLC. Intention: comfort for the sick and grieving. Year of Consecrated Life Mass — Sunday, Feb. 8, 11 a.m. in the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC. Bishop John C. Wester will celebrate a Mass in honor of the Year of Consecrated Life.

Diocese of Salt Lake City — The 2014 Simbang Gabi (Filipino traditional Advent novena of Masses) begins Dec. 15 at Saint Vincent de Paul Parish; the other participating parishes are Our Lady of Guadalupe, SLC, Dec. 16; Saint John the Baptist, Dec. 17; Saint Patrick, Dec. 18; Saint Mary, West Haven, Dec. 19; Saint Lawrence, Dec. 20; Saint Thomas Aquinas, Dec. 21; Saint Martin de Porres, Dec. 22; and Saint Thomas More, Dec. 23. All the Masses begin at 7 p.m. except the one on Dec. 21, which begins at 5 p.m. All are invited.

The 2014 Posadas in the Diocese of Salt Lake City will begin Dec. 16 Saint Rose of Lima Parish, SLC; and continue Dec. 17 at St. Andrew Parish, Riverton; Dec. 18 at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Magna; Dec. 19 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, SLC; Dec. 20 at The Cathedral of the Madeleine, SLC; Dec. 21 at St. Henry Parish, Brigham City; Dec. 22 at Sacred Heart Parish, SLC and at Saint Joseph Parish, Ogden; Dec. 23 at Sts.
