Scripture Reflections — on the Chrism Mass readings. March 25 at 7 p.m. in the Cathedral of the Madeleine’s Scanlan Hall, 309 E. South Temple SLC. Presented by Sister Dianne Bergant, CSA, is professor of Old Testament studies at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago.
 
Chrism Mass — Thursday, March 26, 7 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple. All Catholics are invited to participate with the diocesan clergy in this celebration.

Evening with the author — The Japanese internment camp experience will be recounted by Lily Nakai Harvey, author of Gasa Gasa Girl Goes to Camp, a memoir that includes watercolors that she has painted. Thursday, March 26, at 7 p.m. in the Saint Joseph High School Evans Black Box Theater, 1790 Lake St., Ogden. Free and open to the public. Presented by the Aquinas Institute of Saint Joseph Catholic Schools.
 
Salmon Bake — Friday, March 27, 5-7 p.m., Saint Ann Parish Recreation Center, 450 East 2100 South, SLC. Dinner includes salmon with special sauce, salad, steamed vegetables, potato, roll, dessert and beverage. Cost: $12 adults, $6 children. Hosted by the St. Ann Men’s Club. 

Lenten Fish Dinners: Friday, March 27, 5-6:30 p.m. Cost: family tickets, $50; 12 and older, $15; children, $6; under 6 years old, free. At Holy Family Parish’s social hall, 1100 East 5550 South, Ogden. Conducted by the Holy Family Knights of Columbus.
Knights of Columbus Fish Fry: Fridays through March 27 at St. Marguerite Catholic Church, 510 E. Vine St., Tooele. Service starts at 5:30 p.m., after Stations of the Cross. Cost for three pieces is $8; $6 for two pieces.

Ham Game Night Fundraiser — Friday, March 27, dinner at 6 p.m. with games at 7 p.m., in Saint Patrick Parish Social Hall, 1058 West 400 South, SLC. Each game is a chance to win a ham for your Easter table. Cards are $4 apiece.

Special Screening — The Skaggs Catholic Center has been selected for a special screening of the premier of A.D. The Bible Continues, produced by Roma Downey. Wednesday, April 1, 7 p.m., in the Juan Diego Catholic High School auditorium, 11800 South 300 East, Draper. This particular part of the series narrates the Acts of the Apostles.

Holy Week — The Cathedral of the Madeleine will celebrate the Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Thursday, April 2, at 7:30 p.m. Compline will follow at 9 p.m., then Veneration of the Eucharist from 9:15 p.m. to midnight. Good Friday, April 3, the Passion of the Lord will be in English at noon, followed at 3 p.m. by the choral meditation “Stabat Mater.” Stations of the Cross in English will be at 5:30 p.m. The Passion of the Lord in Spanish will be at 7 p.m. On Holy Saturday, the Sacrament of Penance will be offered from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Vespers will be sung at 6 p.m. The Easter Vigil Mass will be at 8:30 p.m. On Easter Sunday, Mass will be celebrated in English at 8 and 10 a.m. and noon. Mass in Spanish will be at 3 p.m. Vespers and Benediction will be at 5 p.m.  
 
A special 40-hour period of prayer made before the Blessed Sacrament in solemn exposition with a special emphasis for vocations is underway in the Diocese of Salt Lake City. Each parish in the diocese has been scheduled for a week of this devotion. Saint Florence Mission in Huntsville will have this devotion the week of March 22; it will begin that day with an hour of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament following Mass, and a sign-up sheet for parishioners will be available during the week. The week will conclude on Friday with an hour of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, a soup supper and Stations of the Cross.
