Girl Scouts Collecting — on Saturday, Sept. 9, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., the Cathedral Girl Scouts are collecting dog and cat food for the Utah Animal Shelter. They will meet at the Cathedral of the Madeleine plaza, 309 E. South Temple, SLC. Items can be donated on Sept. 9 or dropped off beforehand at the cathedral. Faith Formation Webinar — Tuesday, Sept. 12, 11 a.m.  The first of the Ministry on the Margins series will be hosted by the Roundtable Association of Catholic Diocesan Social Action Directors. The series seeks to provide Catholic leaders in parishes, dioceses, and schools resources and suggestions on how to address the issues of same-sex attraction, migration, and racism. All of these issues bring the Church outside of herself to the peripheries of our society, which is what the Gospel and Pope Francis are calling us to do. The first webinar will be Fr. Catechist Certification — Basic level, video-assisted training for the formation and enrichment of catechists in parish and Catholic school settings. Requires 36 hours for certification, which is valid for three years. Classes are every other Saturday from Oct. 21 to May 26, 9-11 a.m. at Holy Family Parish, 1100 East 5550 South, Ogden.
