Christmas Mass — The Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC, will celebrate the Christmas Mass at Night at 10 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 24. Social distancing requirements will be observed. The Mass will be livestreamed on the cathedral’s YouTube channel, cotmtv. Check your parish for Mass times.  

Pastoral Center Closed — For the Christmas holiday, the Diocese of Salt Lake City Pastoral Center will be closed Dec. 24-28. It will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 29. We wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

Eccles Organ Festival — Sunday, Jan. 10, 8 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 309 E. South Temple, SLC. Featuring Kenneth Udy.

Utah March for Life 2021 – Saturday, Jan. 30, 11 a.m. at the Utah State Capitol. Due to the pandemic, this event will be a car parade that will begin at the Capitol and travel down State Street. Those attending are asked to decorate their cars with appropriate pro-life messaging. Car flags will be sold at the event. Participation is free of charge.

Bilingual Family Advent Retreat —Saint Rose of Lima Parish has a bilingual family Advent retreat available online on the parish Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/Saint-Rose-of-Lima-Catholic-Church-144767932211425). It will be available to watch through all of Advent.

Volunteers Needed — at the Good Samaritan Program from 10 a.m. to noon daily. The program is located at the St. Vincent de Paul dining hall, 437 West 200 South, SLC. To sign up, text 801-793-5679.

Summer Faith Opportunity — FOCUS Summer Projects, a 10-week program for college students, offers a paid summer job and faith formation from FOCUS. The program is expanding beyond its two Colorado locations to California, Maine, Michigan and New York. Most programs will run May 24-Aug. 10. Advent Alms — Catholic Extension’s new “Advent Alms for America” program supports poor faith communities hard hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. The initiative is seeking 1,000 faith communities to raise $1,000 to donate where such a gift is the equivalent of 10 weeks of Sunday collections. The funds will allow pastoral leaders to do the spiritual work of the Church among the poor as well as share the corporal works of mercy with those who are suffering. Homeschool Program — Catholic Schoolhouse is registering students for the 2021/2022 academic year in northern Utah. Catholic Schoolhouse meets weekly for two hours of classroom instruction, hands-on science and art projects and children’s chorus, and provides opportunities for socializing and community-building.
