Blessings for new kids' room

Benedictine Sister Stephanie Mongeon returned to Utah for the May 9 dedication of a new children’s room at Your Community Connection, a family crisis center in Ogden that for many years received funding through the St. Benedict’s Foundation. Before blessing “this beautiful, God-given space,” Sr. Stephanie said she brought with her the love of the 150 sisters at the mother house in Minnesota, where the Benedictines from Ogden went after putting their Utah monastery on the market last year. During the blessing, Sr. Stephanie said, “May the children be welcomed with love and a sense of the healing in this dedicated room created especially for them. May those who reach out and welcome the children know the reward of their privileged ministry to be healers, and affirming the gift of each child that enters. May the love of God of these chosen ones fill them with wisdom to inspire with hope the minds and hearts of the children, to enable them to overcome their hurts and grow to become kind, compassionate adults who serve others. …”
