SALT LAKE CITY — Senior Taylor Gustafson serves as captain of this year’s girls volleyball team and was named to the pre-season volleyball Under-Armour National Watch List. She is guiding this year’s squad as the girls move up to 4A competition. She has been honored by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) and MaxPreps on three separate occasions to date this fall, receiving AVCA Player of the Week honors for the weeks ending Sept. 16, Sept. 23 and Oct. 14. Taylor is the only girls volleyball player from the state of Utah to receive Player of the Week honors more than once.

As a junior, Taylor was a key architect of the girls’ volleyball region championship team, the first-ever for Judge Memorial Catholic High School. Her guidance and advice to younger players is invaluable, both on and off the court. Taylor has been named to both the Deseret News and the Salt Lake Tribune’s All-State girls’ volleyball team, the All-Region girls’ volleyball team, and honored by local club teams and tournaments for outstanding play. She has consistently been listed on the honor roll throughout her four years at Judge. Taylor volunteers in the Judge Memorial Office of Admissions and Communications and has already made a positive impact with potential students and parents.
